Event Description:
Thanks for being interested in volunteering for Duwamish Alive at Point Rediscovery on October 19th 2024 to do restoration work in this Hamm Creek Natural Area/King County Stormwater Facility. Dirt Corps has been working at this site since 2015, and we are honored to be carrying on the work of John Beal, and other Duwamish Valley champions.
As a volunteer, you will be helping with removal of invasive species, finding and clearing space around native species planted in the last 6 years, and picking up trash. We will also provide information on the site itself, how its being used as a stormwater facility, and what needs to happen to make this a salmon bearing creek again.
The event will be from 10am – 2pm. Gloves, tools, snacks, and water will be provided. We recommend wearing long pants, long sleeves, and close-toed shoes, and wearing things you don’t mind getting dirty. Volunteer spots are limited, so please fill out the following information to sign up as a volunteer, and if you aren’t able to make it after all, please let us know so we can offer the spot to someone else.
