Healthy urban forests reduce summer temperatures, and air, noise, and water pollution. Trees and urban canopy also have a unique and significant impact on individual mental health and overall community health. Dirt Corps continues to team up with environmental justice youth organizations, the City of Seattle, and other organizations to improve environmental and community health through urban forestry.

Tree Time
Dirt Corps has partnered with organizations on multiple projects which aim to both increase tree canopy in areas which need it, and expand community knowledge on the benefits of a healthy urban forest. Through free tree giveaway events for residents in the Seattle area, Dirt Corps has helped find hundreds of native trees their forever homes. Dirt Corps has also partnered with the Duwamish Valley Youth Corps and Trees for Seattle performing outreach for the program in South Seattle, as well hosting tree walks in Georgetown. Dirt Corps also collaborated on the creation of the Georgetown Tree Walk map.
